Pryde Contracting is an award-winning, privately owned and operated business established in 1980. With a wealth of knowledge and years of experience in the contracting industry our team pride themselves in providing “an honest answer to your problems”.

Pryde Contracting has varied experience in day to day earthworks, roading operations and can turn their hands to almost anything. Specialist skills include oil rig site works (including the preparation for oil and gas exploration), oxidation ponding development and river mouth excavation.

 

We've built a strong reputation in farm earthworks, flood damage, river protection and roading contract works. Roading projects include major road realignment to dropout repairs and maintenance work.

 

Pryde Contracting has a well established history as a subcontractor within the contracting industry. We have the resources to deliver results on time and to budget.

 

A unique service that Pryde Contracting provides to Hawkes Bay Regional Council is the excavation of Wairoa’s tidal river mouths (referred to as the “Bar”). This task requires specialist skills and strong team work.

 

An extension to the contracting works that compliments the local contracting market is the supply of landscape materials. Bulk supplies of bark, compost and topsoil are available through the Greenhouse landscape division. Landscaping advice and earthworks are also available to residential customers.

 

Pryde Contracting has an established red metal quarry that supplies large volumes of straight haul and crushed red metal to the local contracting market.

 

Pryde Contracting supports a strong team of multi-skilled staff. To support a full fleet of plant and machinery, Pryde Contracting owns and operates a workshop managed by a Mechanic and Plant Manager. This adds to the efficiency and effectiveness of day to day machinery operations. Our fleet includes a transporter, trucks and trailers, excavators, dozers, grader, forklift and all-terrain dump trucks.

Safety in Employment Act (1992).
